Tomorrow I will be turning nineteen! The funny thing is that I'm more excited that I'm only one year away from twenty!
Today we started clearing our land for our new house.
I will post some pictures soon!

Trusting (ie. Faith)
What does it mean to Trust?
Webster's dictionary has it this way:
To trust is to place confidence or to depend, (trust in God) (trust to luck)
Now obviously we don't put our trust in luck but we do put our trust in God. We depend on Him for our every breath. We place confidence in God to keep us alive day to day.
But not only do we Trust or have confidence in our life, we must have a faith for our redemption.
All throughout scripture faith has been part of the human race to believe in the super natural. The word faith appears over 247 times from cover to cover. Faith was not always for salvation only.
It was faith that drove the samaritan mother to beg at Jesus feet for the healing of her possessed daughter. It was Abraham's faith that led him to follow the Lord into unknown territory to claim a land that was'nt his based souly on the promises of God. But it is also faith that that brings us to rest in assurabnce that Christ's blood is sufficient to take away our sin and wrongs.
If your Faith is struggling read the psalms today and I guarantee that you will have a faith boost!

The BIGGEST Biblical controversy solved!
Just kidding!
This is part two of my ”What does it really mean to be a Christian” series. Sorry for the random title. :b
Christ commanded us in Matthew 5:48 “be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Talk about raising the bar!
Now let’s think about this for a moment. Jesus know that we can’t be perfect, He knows that no-one until heaven will be perfect. He also knows that no-one but himself has ever been perfect. So...
... why such a high and unreachable standard?
Scripture implies that we can’t become perfect, but we sure can come close! We are to strive toward the goal of being perfect. Christ became sin for us and we then become His righteousness. Mind you, we don’t become His righteousness by our own works, but by His brutal death on the cross for us.
Now you might ask why is this so important?
Well Christ also said “Go and sin no more.” Does that mean “well God will forgive me.” Or “I can’t be perfect so I guess I’m just human like everyone else” NOOOO! God forbid and far from it!
It means literally “Go and Sin NO MORE!”
Now don’t get me wrong, I am (like everyone else) far from perfect. Are we going to fail? YES! Are we going to sin repeatedly in some areas? YES! So I don’t judge any one who doesn't live up to this standard. We need to set our eyes on the ultimate goal which is to hear Jesus say,”Well done good and faithful servant!” This honor is reserved for those who by grace strive for perfection.
May we all remember this and keep our eyes on the Cross of Grace!

What does it really mean to be a Christian? (part one)
Hi Y'all,
Sorry that I havent posted since last year (lol):)
I hope this one will be edifying.
I just got thinking, What does it really mean to be a Christian? This part I will discuss the "Ambassador" analogy.
We are supposed to be light in the world an ambassadore from another country or world. we are magistrates of the Living King of Glory! we are to represent Christ to the world, we are to do what He would do in our own lives. This is not a responsibility to take lightly!
We are not to blend in with the world and conform to it's standards. We don't have their laws to bear.
So it comes down to two choices:
Are you a minister of light?
or are you a conforming bastion of darkness and deciet?
God be with you!

How now shall we live?
1 Peter 5:6-11
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you]. To him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
We as Christians need to be living as aliens or ambassadors to the World of Christ's behalf. We are not at home here. We should not become "Cozy" here in this World. We need to have our gaze toward heaven and our eyes on Christ at all times.
2 Peter 3:6-14
" Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless."
Notice that we are to live, according to 2 Peter, as though all things are temporal. THEY ARE! This life is a shadow of the real life that is promised to us that believe. It is a life of temporal pain and suffering, (which by the way is nothing compared to what was suffered on our behalf.
"[Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God?"
Let this sink in, and listen to the Spirit of God speak through His words.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

I believe this text speaks for itself.
I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; and forgettest the Lord thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor? (Isaiah 51:12-13)
Let the text itself be taken as the portion for today. There is no need to enlarge upon it. Trembling one, read it, believe it, feed on it, and plead it before the Lord. He whom you fear is only a man after all; while He who promises to comfort you is God, your Maker, and the creator of heaven and earth. Infinite comfort more than covers a very limited danger.
"Where is the fury of the oppressor?" It is in the Lord's hand. It is only the fury of a dying creature; fury which will end as soon as the breath is gone from the nostril. Why, then, should we stand in awe of one who is as frail as ourselves? Let us not dishonor our God by making a god of puny man. We can make an idol of a man by rendering to him excessive fear as well as by paying him inordinate love. Let us treat men as men, and God as God; and then we shall go calmly on in the path of duty, fearing the Lord and fearing nobody else.

A good reminder
I just thought that this is something that we take forgranted all to often.
"This Hope", a group of five singers from Alaska wrote this Christmas song.
Please take a moment to mull over these words and let them sink-in.
"This Hope", a group of five singers from Alaska wrote this Christmas song.
Please take a moment to mull over these words and let them sink-in.
You may hear the word spoken this Holiday; Peace, Joy, Unending love. You may hear of Jesus, a baby born that day, some gifts a manger, a star above. But just remember that... *(chorus)This is not the end of the story, the story of a baby's birth. This is not the end of the story, a Holy God come down to earth. This is not the end of the story, the manger only led to the grave. This is not the end of the story, for he rose again with power to save.* You may see a manger scene, a window full of figurines, a reminder of his Gift. You may think of Christmas as just a time that comes each year, but all of these are worthless if we forget. so just remember that...*

An interesting perspective
It just occured to me that we need to take our role as the next generation of parents.
We all know the "Parable of the talents" in Matthew 25:
"For [the kingdom of heaven is] as a man travelling into a far country, [who] called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made [them] other five talents. And likewise he that [had received] two, he also gained other two.But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, [thou] good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, [there] thou hast [that is] thine. His lord answered and said unto him, [Thou] wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and [then] at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.Take therefore the talent from him, and give [it] unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
If we put our families in perspective of this parable, we could glean a wonderful perspective from it. Let's say that we are one family unit (a man and his wife), or in other words "one talent".Now if we had five children and found godly spouses for all five, we just created five more families, or "five more talents"!So, in essence, the more children we have and help marry, we are creating multiple families and being good stewards of our own!
So much for the perfect family of two kids!
